About Me

Many years ago, after having all my photo gear and portfolios stolen or destroyed in two separate burglaries, I took a hiatus from photography. Who are we kidding...I was disgusted and broke and just gave up on it for a while. Since then, I've had a change of heart and replaced my equipment; moving from film to digital. I am back in the game; reclaiming, building upon what I lost years ago, and enjoying the process.

Over the years, I have shown my work in a couple of galleries, sold in those galleries and in art shows, independently sold prints, been hired for specific projects, and been published in newspapers, magazines, printed books, and online.
I have been paid as a 'professional' photographer, but do not derive my sustainable income from it. This is primarily about the pursuit of art and hobby for me. but do not object to being compensated for what I do, should you need my services.

That being said, I am primarily shooting TF currently, if anyone has an idea, or concept worth pursuing. I enjoy helping newer models, stylists, makeup artists, etc. put together, or build and add to their portfolios. As long as I do not incur expense, or inconvenience, I am willing to help anyone. I have shot everything from mild to wild. Open to any style or idea and always ready to learn and improve. Focused on continuing to grow and maintain a varied portfolio.

I do well enough in many arenas of photography, but do not work with models as frequently as I'd like. My personal tastes lean toward working with natural light and finding gems in poor or very little lighting. I'll shoot with a flashlight or a studio full of strobes, but feel the less equipment there is...the better. However, at times I am hypocritical and can be an equipment/technology whore and love to experiment.

Photoshop and Lightroom are outstanding tools, but I use them as little as possible. Very little, actually. My style was dubbed by a professional photographer friend of mine as "Organic editorial". All the shots in my portfolio here are straight out of the camera... no post processing, at all, other than cropping and conversion to B&W. Three is a fine line between the 'digital darkroom, and something becoming digital artwork. That line is crossed FAR too often, for my tastes. If you are seeking highly processed digital artwork, I'm not your guy.

Check out my portfolio here and let me know what you think. I appreciate critiques and advice.

Currently based in south AL and travel frequently; spending a bit of time in Homer, AK and can be anywhere in between at any given moment. Drop me a message any time, here, or at [email protected]

*Shooting TF, primarily*

Friends list gets purged occasionally. If I get a friend request from you, then never hear from you again, I'll most likely remove you from the list. I'm not in this for 'friend collecting'.
