I have been involved in fine-art figure photography and painting my whole life. For me, the goal of a photoshoot is to bring out the unique energy and quality of a model, and to combine it with my own "eye" or perspective. I am looking to create fine-art nudes, and am not interested in more conventional studio and commercial glamour work. I shoot informally with a handheld camera and improvise sets and lighting (often using available light). I look for a wide range of models, often for ones that are not too "experienced" (or have their own rigid agendas or "looks"). I often work with acquaintances and completely untrained first-time models from other walks of life. I am good at creating a safe place for each woman to unfold her natural beauty and that is what I strive to capture. Usually the character of the pictures evolves during the shoot, and it is a collaborative exploration (I will show the in-camera previews as I work, so we can refine the end-result).

I do not normally pay models (since I do not make any money off of my art), but guarantee that you will have a very positive and emotionally safe experience, and I will do everything I can to bring out your unique characteristics and energy. You are welcome to have the final edited copies of the best images in full resolution.

Feel free to do what you want with the pics. If you publicize them, all I ask is that I get the photo credit (and a link to my website). I may select a small handful and put them on my site. I do not sell my work - it is purely for others to experience and enjoy.

I live in San Diego, but frequently travel for my day-job, so it is possible to arrange shoots ahead of time in other cities that I am visiting in the US and occasionally abroad.
