Is there a line between 'casual photographer' and 'professional'? Casual seems to imply you don't take it seriously, and Professional has the 'I do it for money' vibe. I'm in between. I enjoy photography because I enjoy art and I want to get better at showing what's in my head. There is a lot of time, equipment, and effort spent on this. But I don't submit to magazines at the moment, I don't do wedding or family photography and I don't earn money from this. Also, I generally only work in trade (aside from a local group where we pool our money and tools together, and one or two models whom I've been friends with for a while)... so that's where I am.

My photos are up, no need to describe them. What I'm interested in moving forward? I enjoy studio shoots though some outdoor shoots are fun (If only the sun had a 'pause' button I'd love it), and I want to move more into the really stylized looks. Edgy-grungy as well as soft-surreal, the sin-city noir effects... That kind of stuff.

I haven't shot a whole lot of nudes / erotic / fetish just because I generally prefer to get to know the person a little before that, make sure they're comfortable working with me and I with them. (I've shot some, just not a lot) Eventually I do want to dive more into that area and see if I can make it 'interesting' - working with a model to get to those images that make you think about the story the photo is telling, provoking emotions, not just snapping a photo of a naked person and letting her do all the work.

Anyway, MM is where I'm keeping my current portfolio to point people to it. Not really looking to hire anyone off of it. If you feel inspired to work with me or chat then say hi, my time is probably as limited as yours, we'll see if something clicks and we feel like creating something together.
