Hey there, my name is Derik. I'm 25 years old, black and hispanic, currently studying for my Master's degree in Biomolecular Sciences, and will be looking to pursue my doctorate in Cellular Biology after that. I'm a huge fitness freak, almost always in the gym. I am also looking to start my own fitness consulting/online training business. I originally had my first photo shoot in order to establish some semblance of a portfolio, as well as have some professional photographs to help promote my business. However, a friend of mine told me about Model Mayhem and that I had the potential to be a successful, and the more I thought about it, the more my interest grew, and now I'm excited to say that I feel my body is at a place where I feel comfortable pursuing something in modeling in addition to all else I'm doing. My goals right now are to make a little extra cash on the side, as well as build my portfolio and help any up-and-coming photographers build theirs as well. I'm sure as more time passes, these goals will change and become much more grandiose, for that is the personality I possess.
