Shamira Rashed, an artistic hair stylist and licensed cosmetologist, has used her talents to help demonstrate individuals’ passions, creativity, and uniqueness for the last three years. Shamira has been styling heads since childhood, but she was formally trained at The Long Island Beauty School of New York. While still in school, Shamira assisted in various shoots, including Essence magazine, with Celebrity Hairstylist Giselle Modeste. From there Shamira has developed a great love of hairstyling for both fashion and creative music talents. Shamira continuously works with Fashion Photographer Michael Isaiah and also with top models for fashion photo shoots from prestigious agencies. Shamira is the lead stylist at the firm Kings Media, which specializes in video shoots for various music talents. Shamira has worked as a featured stylist for Vibe Salon, a boutique salon in Queens, and also for “The DryBar”, where she discovered various blow-drying techniques. On her down time, Shamira was able to build a strong following in her private salon, “Styles by Mira.” Shamira specializes in healthy hair, weaving, cuts, and styles. She is most known for her full head sew-in weaves, which most of her clients request; however, she is proficient in various types of weaving: crocheting, weaving caps, glue applications, as well as individual hair extensions. Shamira has begun using her weaving talents to create luxurious wigs. Shamira continues to show her love for fashion, music, beauty, and expression through her hands that were blessed with creativity. Shamira strives with determination to be a hairstyling visionary.
