About Me

"Tyger, Tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?" —William Blake

EXPERIMENTAL SYDNEY PHOTOGRAPHER "PROJECT ZERO"

"Once upon a time there was a girl and her camera. Little did she know..."

With a background in immaculate, award-winning, polished, meticulously lit fashion and commercial photography, the photographer one day found herself lost amid a sea of vain and predictable imagery; wading through the spiralling goo of bokeh and sliding down the mire of hyper-sharp, strobe-impregnated imagery shot through mystical 85mm Zeiss optics wide open at f1.4

It was then that she made a decision that would change her life forever; A decision to look at the world with new eyes and PROJECT ZERO was born.

PROJECT ZERO shoots in a variety of mediums including 35mm film, 6x6 medium format and large format film stocks, polaroid, instax, even occasionally digital in a gritty, punk rock, guerilla style and does her own darkroom work usually ad hoc in hotel bathrooms. She places little importance on newest and most technologically advanced pieces of equipment but seek to focus on light, optics and the art of storytelling through the viewfinder of her camera. Her work plays with the classic nostalgia of the familiar with the photography we all grew up with; The photography that narrated our lives into the present day and leaves us with the nihilistic promise of an untold future.

Influences include IRINA IONESCO, BOB CARLOS CLARKE, ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE, HELMUT NEWTON and ELLEN VON UNWERTH.

PROJECT ZERO is new to Model Mayhem so BE KIND, REWIND!
