About Me

Hello and thanks for checking my MM corner.

Initially a landscape photographer, often employing unusual capture techniques, I have now turned my full attention to portraiture plus.

Whilst I will consider most types of photography for business, my obvious inclination is to conceptual / high fashion portrait imagery. This is wide in scope ranging from classical and art performance to alternative ... from burlesque to 'freaky folk'.

At the moment I would also like to practice "film noir" / "hollywood" and "boudoir" either combined or independently, along with attempting to produce - if possible - what I would term as "timeless classical" images.

I endeavour and aspire as a photographer, working for either pay or trade depending on the assignment ... and like so many fellow members here, I put as much time and resource as possible into improving my skills and the level of the work I produce .... and therefore really do appreciate enthusiasm and reliability for a project from the model(s) and all participants involved. Most everyone whom have worked with me to date have expressed that they would again.

The quality/ability/skills of everyone involved combine to the greater whole:

A model, as you know, is usually the focal centre. The photographer usually directs and then makes manifest the project. The clothes, style and MU set the character tone ... the location/lighting is the atmosphere/backdrop. Yet for both photographer and models alike, it can be quite difficult to realise respective skills that each has beforehand (conceptual) without any actual involvement (experiential). I find it can take at least 15-30mins to begin to 'see' each other. I have more than enough experience to know that the model (looks, presentation, personal character, professional skills/abilities) is absolutely critical to the standard of final image output. I can spend literally hours editing an image ... but there are qualities that cannot be recreated post.

Please review my website for more examples of my work. All of this is past - new shoots always improve.

So do contact me if you would like to create. I look for skill/ability, character and taste, plus ambition to reach new levels.

Steven

ps: WATERMARKS:
What a horrid thing to paste straight thorough all that detailed effort!
The huge watermark placed on most of online images is only there for obvious reasons. It's not something I am remotely keen on, but past experience (especially event photography/social media) with much research and discussion with all types of artists has led me to feel that this is the only effective means to attempt to protect my work from losing all credit. Clients do not have large watermarks, just discreet signature as normal. TFP models do not have this if we agree beforehand.
