About Me

Just wanted to say that if I friended you, it's because I feel I can learn something from you, and would love to collaborate with you. Let's make photons into art! :D

I guess I'll start out in the pretentious third person:

Photographer. Singer-song writer. Poet. Visual artist. Journalist. Human. Unabashed ethical hedonist, with tastes in only the finest of debaucheries.

Biography

Nic Pelegri is a multidisciplinary artist whose greatest dream is to get lost, repeatedly, across the planet in the most fantastic places possible, and document that... Which he has done across the West Coast, Alaska, Hawai'i, and Fiji. He wishes to share with you all the experiences along the way.

A common theme in Nic's photography is the concept of an edge or border; growing up as a half-breed Lummi/Irishman, liminal as an adjective typified his life. Having thrived in such an environment between cultures, religions and ethnicities, the exploration of cusp-related concepts is almost a compulsion. The edges between the erotic and the innocent, the sensual and the austere, the urban and the rural, the wealthy and the impoverished, and the battle lines drawn between the infinite cultures of a diverse nation hold a fascination for the artist.

During his stay in Fiji, Pelegri found a home with the Dewala Clan of Nagigi, and is happy to say that he has found a home
port to orient his sails by.

May you love, fully, and painfully, and simply, for it's the only form of emptiness that means something, and everything else waits with same expectant vacancy, to be filled with the tao and the love of the Everything.

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHT

That was exhausting. I'm a San Joaquin County area photographer with a taste for travel and an empty piggybank. I love learning everything from everybody, and my appetite for joie de vivre and my zugunruhe are fairly all consuming. I love doing TF* shots, I love shooting spirited unknowns for free, and I'd also love to make the transition into a greater frequency of actual payment. I love the beauty in abnormality, and have recently been on a bit of a steampunk kick (making the props for those shoots was awesome, and I've gotten kinda addicted).

Here's the deal: at this point in my career, I can't afford to pay models... however, I'm fully content with sharing image rights, building portfolios, and helping with sensitive and new areas that a model is working on by being discrete, trustworthy, unembarrassed and polite, and keeping any and all of my gypsy-punk joyful perversion in my personal life, unless one wants a particularly zany shoot.

I have the habit of blasting music and snacking as I work, so if we're setting up a shoot, let me know if there are any favorite bands/nibbles. Photoshoots for me are a collaborationist effort to create beauty, and though professionalism is important, art requires a fun environment, at least for me.

If you want to see samples of my work, check out Lucid Zine (https://www.facebook.com/LucidZine) or my photo blog (https://www.nicpelegriphotography.tumblr.com)

Hopefully work with you soon! And please, if you have any advice, shoot it my way.

My models are amazing, and the majority don't have profiles, but when they do, you better believe I'll tell the world who they are.
