MY name is Collin and I am a model/ photographer/ writer from Camden Town, London, now living in Bondi Beach, Australia.

First things first: I am aware that any model on this site should be on guard for creepy dudes looking to mask purvy-ness behind faux arty-ness. I am aware of this because my wife and creative partner is also a model on this site, who shoots nudes and has to read between the lines for every photo-shoot she is offered. It's a shame, but its reality, and I would recommend the same discretion to anyone using these sites as I do to her. I.e. meet everyone you might consider working with in advance (even if just by Skype meeting) and discuss creative ideas to be sure it's within your comfort zone. Chaperones, although sometimes an impediment to the creative process, should always be welcomed; even if it’s a girlfriend coming along for moral support. Safety first!

Our project: That said Matilda and I are working in a creative new project bridging my past experience with scenic, artistic photography and her successes in portrait, fashion and artistic nude modeling. Our goal is compile a body of brilliant, intriguing and positive work for our portfolio, to later be used for both commercial purposes and the compilation of an artistic photography book.

About me: While studying philosophy and history in Brittan, my hobby of photography became an expression of many of the most positive ideas learned from my studies. I began by applying photos from my travels around the world to these concepts and have produced a book called ‘The Unnatural World’, published by The Globe & Compass Press, on artistic scenic photography and aesthetic philosophy. The images in this work were selected for their power to make us question the creation and appreciation of beauty by humans around the world, at different times in history, up to the modern era. This book was a critical reflection on art, culture and nature, which produced some fantastic images, inspired by ideal environments, created by diverse cultures.

Our work: My new venture is a unique photo project called Eudaimonia Photography. Its focus is ideal atmospheric scenes of beauty and happiness, using subjects who represent a broad spectrum of human beauty. It is inspired by the Ancient Greek concept of Eudaimonia, meaning the highest human flourishing, or what really is ‘good’ and how it is to be achieved. Like aesthetics, this requires one to explore the nature of art, beauty, taste but also the essence of happiness and its perils.

Inspiration: This is our own unique project which we are building from little more than creative ideas, largely because we are disappointed in the quality and expression in artistic photography being produced at the moment. It seems that most pictures of people these days fall into clear and slightly boring categories like ‘glamour’, ‘fashion’ and ‘porn’. We believe the camera and model are far more expressive and deserve more from artists than simple products to sell in the media market. To this end we are looking for interesting and creative models who can share our vision, who would like to help us produce something beautiful.

The show: Forums for our work are galleries, photography competitions and possibly another book, but we also hope for it to lead to many more lucrative opportunities in the future, for both us and the models we choose to promote.
