I just had to get that out of my system...
A mostly self taught photographer, I attended Melbourne’s highly acclaimed Photography Studies College part time in 2012, receiving mainly high distinctions and much praise from lecturers and fellow students. I have also attended master classes run by 2 multi award winning photographers whose level of artistry I hope to achieve one day.

I am a firm believer in creating an image in front of the lens, not the computer. This is why if there is a hair out of place I have it fixed on set, I do not think “I’ll just fix it in Photoshop”. This is why I love location work. This is why in 2012 I went to Lake Eyre – a 3,000 km round trip from Melbourne – to shoot a haute couture collection created specifically for the project.

My work has been described by my mentors and other photographers as “lyrical” and “theatrical”. My personal work is permeated by a distinctively dark aesthetic, and is often inspired by historical periods such as the Baroque and Victorian eras.

People who work with me describe me as quirky and fun, yet professional and an absolute perfectionist.

Another passion of mine is music. I have been studying the violin for several years and have played guitar since I was about 18. This is the inspiration for the branding “Opus”:

1. an artistic composition, esp a musical work

Composition is an integral part of photography, as it is in music. As my 2 passions in life, I strive to create an “Opus” whenever possible, whether it be musical or photographic.
