"The shadows betray you, because they belongs to me." - Bane
I guess to sum up my background I have been doing photography as a paid hobby for about 5-6 years. I often need a creative outlet from my daily life and like many camera heroes, photography is my weapon of choice. I have shot a couple of weddings, various head shots from authors to underground rappers. I have worked with up and coming fashion designers to shoot their styles but I have found that Cosplay is just plain fun. As a comic book fan growing up I was always attracted to the look of attractive strong women paired with muscular dominant and capable men that wield a power far greater than those with which they exist. Strength, power, skill, sexiness, attraction, and the varying degrees on the hero/heroine/villain's moral compass are all aspects that I desire to evoke from each photo. I have always dressed up as some character on Halloween but for some reason this past season was the first time I ever wanted to capture it with the purpose of making a creative shot. Even still these picture were taken of myself and my friend 30 min before we had to attend a party. We were late and I really just wanted to get a shot for the memory. Under those circumstances I am satisfied with the images as they are fun, as they should be. What I am looking for: I would like to add to my cosplay portfolio. I have a full studio in Whitestone Queens where I could take my time to create thought out un-rushed images based on your mood, character, and feeling that you are looking to evoke. I am open to time for print in the right scenario. I would like you to have a quality looking costume or wardrobe and be open to have a bit of a comic feel. I prefer to go for a semi real, darker, comic look as opposed to a cartoon feel. "Chris Nolan real" appeals to me as does a Sin City and Joel Grimes. That said I am always open to scratching everything and just doing something completely different! Message me if you want to collaborate.
