I wanted to be a model basically my whole life. When I was 13, I started submitting myself to agencies worldwide and didn't stop until I was 17. By then, I'd submitted to hundreds of agencies, and not a single one was interested.
Why am I saying this?
I'm glad I didn't get into the modeling world back then. I now know that I wasn't ready. I would have been torn to pieces and wouldn't have known how to handle it.
I believe everything happens for a reason. Back then, I suffered from eating disorders and a terrible self-image. Over the past year, I've been figuring myself out: who I am, what I want, where I'm going in life. I'm no longer going to put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak, so modeling isn't my #1 priority, realistically speaking. I've realized that even if I'm fortunate enough to become part of this world, odds are it won't last long. I've realized that I need to maintain the other areas of my life as well as pursue this life-long dream.
I've always been drawn to modeling. I think it is beautiful, and so influential in modern society. When I'm in front of the camera, I become someone else, someone who's a little more fearless, a little more confident, a little stronger, more in control. It's a feeling I get nowhere else, and I love it. That is why I love modeling. I've got so much left to learn, and I would love to have the chance to learn everything I can about this industry.
