About Me

Modeling is something that my photographer friends have encouraged me to do for about a year or so. I recently had my first photo shoot to take promotional shots for my band, which is where the photos in my profile come from. I'm planning to do some more modeling soon to help a friend of mine build her portfolio and get more experience modeling. Right now this is just a hobby and a way to meet more photographers, as photography is one of my hobbies as well.

I am originally from Connecticut and moved to Washington, DC in November 2011. I work full time as a researcher for a labor union downtown. I live in the Columbia Heights area but for the right project I would be willing to travel, although I don't have a car so metro access is important. Outside of work I love to read, write, and listen to and make music. One of my greatest passions is to promote the arts and artists and I see this as a way to support photographers who cannot afford to pay for professional models and have fun doing it.

My style varies, in the shots I currently have up we were going for something of a mid-60s throwback look. I can look like a jazz man, I can also be a mod or a rocker or really anyone you need me to be. If needed I could even put some pomade in my hair and do a 20s, 30s or 40s look. I love vintage fashion and am most interested in doing fashion shoots but am open to pretty much anything. I can provide some wardrobe options but if you have something specific in mind I would need help there. I also don't know anything about applying makeup so I'd need someone to do that for me until I figure that out. I was in drama club in high school so I'm comfortable in makeup, I've just forgotten how to apply it and stage makeup is much different than photography makeup. I may shave my facial hair at some point (it is Summer after all) but I am not open to changing my facial hair for this.

I'd like to use this site as a way to have fun, help artists in the region, and build a portfolio of work that I might use going forward if I ever decide to get more serious about this.
