About Me

Let me tell you a bit about the journey that has brought me to creating the art you are seeing on my website today.
Before college I took a job as a receptionist in a modeling agency. It provided me with the opportunity to have a professional portraits session. The photos were a revelation, they 'portrayed' me as a beautiful, powerful woman, full of energy and brimming with life. My senior photo, taken two years earlier, had all the art of a mug shot when compared to those taken, one-on-one with a professional.
When I began college it was with the goal of learning more about my two real passions, Art and Film Making. Always drawn to ideas of turning fantasies into realities, I wanted to improve my ability to create whatever reality I chose. I graduated with two BA degrees, in both Cinema and Art, each with an emphasis in photographic techniques.

After graduation I worked in the motion picture business for a while. But it didn't take long for me to realize that it wasn't the right fit for me. I needed to be more directly connected to the creation of the vision. That's when I decided to focus more on photography.

I found that I was happiest making people look fabulous and then incorporating those subjects with my fantasy ideas. It led to shooting a lot of green screen composites, it was a fun period. I would put my subjects in different fantastic, otherworldly locations. Those pieces were more fine art than commercial.

It was then that I got a call from my family, asking if I could move home and help care for my ailing mother. When I did, the experience matured my perspective on life. In quiet, reflective hours during those years I discovered another passion. Another beautiful way to connect people of different generations, different times and worlds.
I was going through some old family photographs. Hidden among them was a professional portrait of my Mom, at probably 19 or 20. After having seen her through her last days, this lovely old portrait revealed a beautiful woman. When I compared it with mine at the same age, the resemblance was more evident that I had ever known or been told. It was a moving moment for me. I felt this is the way I want to remember her. Full of vitality, full of life.
Today I am privileged to discover all of the beauty within a person. That is my passion. Whether it be simple, elegant, flirty, fun or outrageous; revealing the essence of you, through the art of photography, is my goal. There is only "now" for capturing these moments in time.
