About Me

Hello, I'm Marina and I'm a freelance photographer. I've taken a black and white film class, an alternative processes class as well as a digital photography class. Film was really rewarding, digital provides an instant satisfaction but overall I would have to say alternative processes was my favorite. Discovering new ways to capture and/or present a moment is a joy that I continue to pursue.

My work has been displayed numerous times in Pasadena City College's showcase, I’ve taken product/advertising photos for GQ Vape, as well as taken live event photos for SMB Movie Archive and The Tom Leykis Show.

My personal projects have recently been described as “urban and edgy.” Before that it was called “colorful and imaginative.” And when I first started out, my work involved different types of stencils and was high contrast. My style changes depending on the subject as well as the materials I have at my disposal.

No matter the medium (film, digital, etc), I love taking portraits. Traditional, environmental, conceptual – being able to capture and archive a person’s existence/personality is amazing to me.
