I am currently 33 with a few years experience 'dabbling' with both Film & digital camera formats.

I Originally trained in Film & TV production, and because of this have had a strong interest in photography, lighting and framing of subjects. I also have a fondness for drawing and life drawing in particular as I have always enjoyed doing sketches. And so its really only been since April that I began experimenting with Portraiture as it really accumulates all of my creative interests. It is also due to the fact I enjoy working with people who are like minded and enjoy what they can contribute creatively.

I guess you could say I have an eclectic taste for different genres and contexts. I don't have one given style, as I find its what the subject lends to the image that ultimately determines how the image should be interpreted and hence shot.

Typically, all of my work does tend to lean towards themes of nostalgia, Melancholy and emotional intensity. Aesthetically, prefer the old grainy 'film' look of photos and the same for the lighting set ups. I am a huge fan of older forms of photography such as Burlesque and pinups art from the 1940s/50s. I simply prefer the look, the poses and slight crudeness of the pictures. This is one area in particular that I would really like to develop with anyone wanting to do the same.

I currently operate from a small (2.6m x 3m) home studio. It maybe limited in size but the results have proved that size really isn't everything! I also would like to do location work as York and Yorkshire as a whole has some fantastic areas to shoot in, many of which I've yet to explore. However I am limited to traveling on Public Transport, but if you have an idea for a location, please give me a shout!

I am currently working at TFP or Pay for shoots, but am limited to what I can afford per month, so when contacting me, please be specific about your requirements. Where possible, I will reimburse models traveling costs in addition to hourly working rates.

As I have a day job and the rent to pay. I can only offer my time, services and a background to shoot against. Anything additional such as wardrobe & makeup will be down to the models to supply.

I edit/enhance all of my images and this can take several weeks depending on my workload as well as my obligation to commit to my full time job. But I do try, as I take my work very seriously.
