About Me

Kat walked into her first dance class in September 2009. Immediately she was hooked. She studied with Saqra for 3 years and counting and takes part in her student dance troupe, Alahad Shamal. With the troupe, she performed at events like Kent Cornucopia Days, the Puyallup Fair, and the Mediterranean Fantasy Festival. Kat branched out and began performing on her own at venues like Saqra’s Monthly Review, and Petra Bistro in Seattle. She was also part of the Jeweled Scarab Dance Troupe, which performs professionally all over the country. Currently she is one of the members of Raqs El Sehr Shamal.

Kat is heavily inspired by modern EDM styles, while not losing touch of the classical Egyptian style. Fun and personable, Kat brings charm, grace and classic serpentine movements to her dance. She has trained in ballet, as well as workshops with tribal fusion star, Deb Rubin. In all honesty, she is just a lovable nerd who happens to belly dance.
