I'm a fun, creative photographer who's been consistently published since I was 14 years old; I'm always looking for exciting new ideas to bring to life. I love working with people from all walks of life. I especially enjoy edgy, controversial, or thought-provoking shoots. I am extremely open-minded and GLBT-friendly, as well as looking for models who shun society's standards and like to get out of their comfort zones.
I am very interested in erotic photography and body studies and am influenced and inspired by the works of Clive Barker, Tyler Shields, Justin Monroe, Nan Goldin and many more. I don't use Photoshop and keep digital retouching to a minimum on most shoots unless the model and I have discussed a specific vision ahead of time for the look we want to achieve. I prefer to get my shots using lighting and lenses, as well as collaborate with the models to get the best posing and expressions possible. I am very respectful and personable on set, as well as professional, but I love to have fun. I don't like when models just show up and expect me to walk them through every single thing we do; there's nothing better than working with an intuitive model who takes direction but brings their own ideas and unique perspective to the shoot. I work in the independent film industry now and have many contacts through there, so many of my models go on to work on other projects with me in the future. I love developing a fun working relationship with them! I am based primarily in Dallas, Texas but I do travel frequently, particularly to Los Angeles, and enjoy connecting with models and collaborators from all over the globe. I have shot live concerts, weddings (one for a celebrity comic book artist!), stage plays, glamour models, promotional pictures for bands, portfolio work for a tattoo artist and body piercer, headshots for models and musicians, behind-the-scenes stills on film sets, conceptualized shoots and much more. I'm especially drawn to punk or rock aesthetics, goth and counterculture fashion and makeup, androgyny, and other somewhat unconventional subject matter. I have worked with many high-profile clients and some of my work has been featured in music videos, album liner notes and promotional materials for various entertainers. I've been published in national magazines, high-traffic websites, and several blogs, and I have connections to multiple media outlets. Most of my own TFP work is done for editorial/future publication purposes, but I love the opportunity to expand a portfolio and play with exciting concepts as well. To get a better idea of what I shoot, please look at my site www.darkroomlament.com. I am very versatile and I prefer to showcase my images there rather than on MM. The best way to reach me is through email, either here or at [email protected]. Thank you! Verified Credits (0)Worked with Amanda Rebholz? Share your experience and become verified!
