I started my photography career in the early 90's but after about 10 years or so I decided (with some serious input from my wife) that my work schedule was not supportive of a happy home life. I cut back on photography, and started a career in the safety & Health field that had "normal" work hours. I have always missed the creative aspects of photography and with the financial considerations behind us, I recently decided to quit my "day job" and get back into photography.
Until now, my photographic career has been focused predominantly on portrait, and event photography. Going forward I'm excited to branch into other areas and develop a style that will become recognizable as my own. In some ways I'm starting over since so much has changed since I opened my first photography studio. And I've come to the realization that life is too short to settle for anything that doesn't make me happy.
I’m looking for models that are interested in expanding their portfolios as well as having fun along the way as we try out new equipment, new environmental settings and different photographic genres than I've done in the past. I want my future work to have an edge to it. I want it to elicit an emotion or cause the viewer to “think” when someone sees my work. That's the challenge I've given myself, to create something beyond just another pretty picture someone will hang on their wall.
I played it very safe in the past to create family friendly images that would sell. Now I'm focused on having fun, being creative, and collaborating with fellow artists.
