Alisha “Frenchy” Francis was born on October 15, 1988 in Washington, D.C. To her mother a Nurse named Rose and father a Mechanic/ Entrepreneur name Vernie. Both Vernie and Rose left their homeland of Jamaica to create a better future for little Alisha. As a child, Alisha consumed her days and nights with activities such as swimming, ice skating, singing, dancing, and playing dress-up. She attended Ridgecrest elementary school and later transferring to Galway elementary school in Montgomery County, Maryland. The transfer was due to the separation of her parents.
Alisha then attended Briggs Chaney middle school where she in depth found her passion for the spotlight. Always keeping herself busy, she became a professional dancer for East County Community centers team called “Shining Stars.” This team of youthful girls of all ages allowed her to express her heart through the gift of dance. The team allowed her to win many awards and gold medals.
The choice of attending James Hubert Blake High School for the performing arts allowed her to continue her love for the arts by joining a few clubs such as hip hop dance team, step team, drama club, student government association, newspaper journalism club, and fashion organization “Fashion X.” Outside of school Alisha kept herself busy with modeling and acting with John Robert Powers Agency and various other opportunities. As a hustle, she worked in a salon and in her neighborhood as a local hairstylist. It was there one of her close friends gave her the nick name of “Frenchy” coming from the 1978 hit movie Grease. Frenchie being the pink hair beauty school attendee.
After graduating high school, Alisha then went on to attend Temple University located in North Philadelphia. She became the president for two consecutive years of her fashion organization “Xpressionz.” As always, outside of school “Frenchy” came alive and regained a true passion for every aspect of Fashion and Music. Today, Alisha known as Frenchy is climbing the Fashion Industry by storm and building her career as a Professional model/ Actress.
