Matthew is an Artist with a talent for bringing out the style icon in every person and decades of experience. He began working with hair in 1998 in his mother's salon where he built his foundational skills. Even prior to completing cosmetology school at Fullerton College, Matthew would experiment with both haircuts and color on all of his friends, producing fantastic results that were met with delight. Once graduated, Matt worked as an assistant to Pon Saradeth of Pon International Hair Salon and Cheryle Aluotto, learning and building a vast repertoire of skills and experience from both. Eventually, Matt set out as a stylist in his own right working at Alexander's Grand Salon and Spa for a time before moving on to his current location at Christopher and Co in Newport Beach, California.

Outside of the salon, Matthew has worked on editorial materials for fashion magazines such as Riviera and Foam. His expertise, extensive experience, and versatility have brought him to a diverse array of sets as he is often requested for photo shoots, TV, film, and live fashion shows (e.g. LA Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week).

Matthew is an Educator with a zest for the Art of Hairdressing and Personal Styling. He attends educational events all over the country, not only as a student but as an instructor and expert as well. Matt also hosts fashion events, utilizing his extensive knowledge of both the hair and fashion industries to bring together industry professionals and foster knowledge exchange of tremendous breadth.
