I'm an oil painter and I work in a traditional manner. My work consists of a mixture of still life, portraiture, and figurative work. I received my bachelor's degree in Art from San Diego State University and I currently study in small 'ateliers' in the area as well as work on private projects.

I would like to quickly describe my general working habits. I typically take a minimum of 10 hours upwards to 50+ hours on a painting depending on the complexity. Each painting session runs about 3 hours but sometimes 1 1/2- 2 hours per session if the model is inexperienced (e.g. a commissioned portrait). I work solely from life and I personally do not use photographic references. For me the best paintings document a long-term interaction between the painter and the sitter.

That being said I would like to say that I have the utmost respect for professional models and I understand that working as a model is a very serious thing. I hope to make some great art with some great and inspiring muses.
