As the product of a mechanical engineer and an accountant, there is a thoroughly meticulous process I operate within. Influenced by international philosophies, I grew up in a Hispanic home that was itself immersed in Asian culture. Visually, I am absorbed by still photography and moving picture. I was a writer, musician and performer before I ever learned to use a camera. Although playing an instrument is on hiatus, mixing and recording has become my way of creating music. Now my explorations have combined into my multimedia creative expression.
The ways of expressing the troubling times of youth in a disenchanted world reveal themselves in small simple gestures. We are a generation born to consume materials that quickly become obsoletely not trending and yet there are artists that manage to thrive above artificial repetition.
I’ve not yet met a genius that wasn’t a fool.
Time passes in still photographs, motion picture and audio recordings of my life during a period in which my intentions for my future were futile and necessary. While the snap shots capture spontaneity, vulgarity is upon a pedestal in an age of sexual promiscuity and spirituality dwindles from the realization of our trivial existence. This is the incentive for pursuing passions because small pleasures lie within forgetting our status and concentrating on making all the nerves align.
My smile is as big and heavy as the accordion on the streets of Paris, wind swirling because of my window air conditioner though I’d rather it smell of cinnamon sugar and fresh baguettes. Warm orange lights tell of early morning but I’m still at my friends’ place. I lose track of sleep and then stealthily pulled into shadows where I could stay for days.
Once I saw a drunkard in the alley and most nights I want to capture his joy.
