I never know how to start a bio. Do I speak in the 3rd person or just talk about myself? I'll start by introducing myself: My name is Courtney and I am a hairstylist and makeup artist. I have been doing hair for 6 years and I have been doing makeup for 13 years. I started doing hair and makeup in college (CSUN) as a theater and film major. Post college I tried out various jobs and wound up going back to school in 2007 to become a licensed hairdresser. Since then I have been working both behind the chair and freelance. I love working on photo shoots, doing weddings and doing complete makeovers (or makeunders, depending on the person.) I have a very eclectic style. I love clean, natural makeup; messy up-do's; funky hair color; braids; false eyelashes; and the expression on my clients faces after I work my magic. I get a lot of my inspiration from people watching (not trying to be creepy, I promise) and working with other artists. Through Model Mayhem I hope to work with photographers, clothing lines, advertisers, etc. My goal is to continue to grow my business and through my work, help others grow theirs. I do both by-hand and airbrush makeup, hair extensions, up-do's, runway and ready to wear looks for both women and men. I work on all age ranges and ethnicities.
