Photography to me is an act of creation. It is creating something special; either building a vision, a concept and trying to bring it to life, or simply bringing artists together and seeing what can happen spontaneously. An art piece can be created as part of a transaction, money exchanging hands, a job done, and/or professionals at work. But for me Art is created as a collaboration of two or more artists bringing different elements together and caring about what is brought to life.
I want to capture the individual, not just a model. I tend not to be about concepts (although open to ideas) but rather the person in front of the camera. I prefer art nudes as there is no hiding behind a billion dollar clothing industry. I prefer minimal or no make-up. While I do appreciate the artistry that can be created with that talent, I also love to pare it down to the art and beauty of who we are in raw form, our scars, our stretchmarks are simply footsteps on the road of life. I am open to a variety of shoot styles, models and looks. I love to work with both experienced models and models just starting out on the journey. I mainly love working with light and shadow, textures, contrast etc. and using the body as a landscape, as architecture, as strength, weakness, love, lust and grace. I prefer very simple edits, really just playing w light, shadow and contrast. When a shoot works, it is relaxed, fun, silly and a comfortable environment to create.
