About Me

Before embarking on a journey with music, Taundra Noel Thomas had her sights set on dancing. A once in a lifetime audition would bring to life the words of her great-grandmother, “You’ll be a singer …”.
Born and raised in Maryland, Taundra was exposed to the arts at a young age. Her father, currently the lead singer in The G-Spot Band, unbeknownst to him, influenced her in both dancing and singing. If her father executed the dance move she practiced it, and if the sound of music made it to her ears, again the rhythm swayed her to dance. Not yet knowing the threat of combined talent, Taundra had her heart set on becoming a dancer. Beginning with her freshman year in high school to the day she finished college, Taundra danced. She was a member of the pom-pom team; she organized and choreographed for a dance team in college and she taught classes at the YMCA, churches and other organizations. She won dance awards such as The All-American Award and earned a spot to compete in a chance to dance at the Pro-Bowl. It wasn’t until an audition in the summer of 2004 that her passion for dance took a backseat.
Washington D.C. was one of many chosen sites for Fox’s Season 4 American Idol audition. At the urging of her mom and family, Taundra auditioned. Although she didn’t make the cut, that experience swayed her into the music industry. A leap of faith moved her to Atlanta and music work began with record execs whom she’d recently met. This potential break didn’t pan out well, as her album was never recorded and she was guided with poor management from the label with whom she worked with. No progress in sight, she moved back to North Carolina hoping to start over. Years later her move back to NC looked grim as she was back at ground zero once again after joining two failed singing groups, Agape Love & First Kyss. Not giving in to failure, Taundra kept going and eventually returned back to recording as a solo act.
Having stayed close with one of the record execs from Atlanta, Taundra enlisted their help to manage her. Rethinking a new game plan, she continued her music work, but after the push and encouragement of friends she ultimately decided to go another direction – the camera. Under the instruction of Burgess Jenkins from Carlina Actor’s Group, Taundra began her quest to be a triple threat: dancer, singer and actress. Enrolling in acting class to polish her skills, within a short period of time she began to star in short films. This new move proved to be a total success as Taundra’s acting resume now lists a host of films and commercials. She is currently filming a new project, MASK, and setting her sights on releasing an independent music project in the future.
