Plus Size Model Katie (KL) Young was born Feb 11,1980 in Los Angeles ,Ca. She relocated to Texas at the age of 20" California is my heart, but Texas is my home". At the age of 24 she decided to become a plus size model after the encouragement of a photographer friend, who always believed she was born to become a model. Standing at 5'8" and at a size 16/18 KL skeptically ventured into the world of plus size modeling. She was greeted into the industry, booking only local fashion shows in the Texas area and building a great reputation of herself. A few months into her career she was diagnosed with cervical cancer she has never gave up on her dream and didn't let it stop her she is now a survivor. Of her many goals is to be national and international level. Her Moto is Why reach for the stars when you can go over and beyond.KL will love to model for numerous companies and designers such as Forever 21, Igigi, Lane Bryant, Macys, Ashley Stewart, Kmart, Plus Model Magazine, Rocawear, Baby Phat, Beyonce's House of Dereon,and walk the runway at FFW for Gwen Devoe amongst many others. This is truly her passion not just a hobby. Her look is very unique versatile she can pull off any style and genre a photographer or designer wants to capture. KL is currently not represented by an agency, she is looking to network with an agency, photographer, MUAs, stylist and creative minds to enhance my portfolio and take it to the next level. KL is hoping to be signed to and agency soon in the modeling industry
