Alexander Dutton is an analytic playing at being a creative, and vice-versa.

His earliest outlet for creativity was illustration, for which he'd attended LaGuardia School of the Arts with minimal success. Having concluded against using his passions as a means of survival, as a matter of pragmatism, he instead pursued computer sciences and development. During this period, he saw little appeal in photography, as the notion of composing images from perspectives which must be found in the real world seemed far less effective than simply conjuring them from the mind. Not to mention the price of film. Geez.

He finally took up photography primarily as a means of capturing moments he found himself forgetting, when bereft of touchstones. Plus, digital totally obviated the concern of film prices. With practice has grown a passion to improve the quality of his photographs, however utilitarian their original nature.

Currently, his areas of focus include event, editorial, promotional, and wedding.

He still doesn't get landscape, but he's trying.
