About Me
Current project: portraying "moods and emotions" with pose, environment, facial expression, and wardrobe. Also interested in "window light" -- including artistic b&w. I love the soft tones that natural window light produces, but stark images can be awesome, too. I invite models interested in collaborating to contact me.
Aristotle has been quoted as saying, "The aim of art is to present not the outward appearance of things, but their inner significance." That's a lofty objective, but that's where I would like photography to take me. And ideally you and I together can capture both the outward appearance AND the inner significance. I enjoy capturing youthful spirit and natural beauty in casual, informal settings (usually but not necessarily outdoors). I also love exploring the world of artistic black & white images using studio lighting, Anything creative gets my attention. I am easy-going and fun to work with. Some models ask me what my "vision" is for a prospective shoot. While I do sometimes have specific ideas, more frequently I am looking for a collaboration that combines serendipity and spontaneity, producing stunning and possibly unexpected results. I'm recently retired from a long career in non-profit management (although I'm still involved in that world through volunteer work). Photography is a life-long interest, as is writing (novels, short stories, non-fiction…anything but poetry…LOL). Always seeking to enhance my skills in every artistic endeavor.
