About Me

What's Closhlab?

Let's start by explaining where the word CloshLAB comes from.
CloshLAB is composed by two words : Closh and LAB.
Closh is my nickname which was given to me by my school mate in my childhood, it's a shorten sound of Claudio Lo Cascio , my real full name .
Lab stands for laboratory, where I find myself testing, experimenting, and giving form to my ideas and designs.

My history

I was born and bread in the beautiful northern mountains of Italy , surrounded by lakes and green forests.
Although the landscapes are very suggestive, the social life can be defined boring, and you have to find yourself something to do to keep you entrained.
Inventing games and drawing comics was my favourite hobby. I would spend hours and hours no-stop with my hands dirt of pencil . Of course that time was taken from diligently doing my school home works. :)

I studied computer programming and then specialised in web designing.

In 2002 I had my first job in a little photographer studio, as web-designer . where I could improve my skills and where I met with the fantastic world of photography for the very first time.

The passion for photography

It was my second day of work and I was having my lunch break , When I finished my lunch I had still a lot of time left before I had to go back to work, so I started browsing around the studio, on the left there were shelves with beautiful big books , and shiny old 35 mm cameras I guess they were showing just as collection and on the right a massive solid table made of dark brown mahogany , on top of it where laying 4 photos next to each other , they were a print of a A4 size “more or less”.
The first photo which caught my eye was a photo of two hands dirt of carbon , with a brown filter .
I can't tell with words what that was like for me , and this is why I believe images have a big power : The power of giving emotions you can't describe with words and they will stay with you forever.

Back to reality

I had to sadly leave because of the ugly truth , it didn't pay my bills, so I started to work as IT support which allowed me to travel most of the Italian cities. I moved to Australia in 2008 to find new challenges, fist of all to learn the language of English and finally got a job position in IT . So I decided to stay in this beautiful country.

Where am I now ?

I currently still live in Australia, where I enjoy the lifestyle and get enough spare time to go back to my favourite passion. I need to improve my technical skills but the only way to improve and get new ideas is cultivate your passion , and if watered with willing it will grow stronger letting you access a new entire prospective of life, where others can see what the world look like through your eyes.
