A picture captures forever a single moment in time which would otherwise be lost, or rely on a thousand words to remember it by. The human body is a good and beautiful work of art, created to be enjoyed and admired. It is my desire to capture the amazing human form just as it is, with all it's variations and similarities. In that moment the body is unique: unlike any other; unlike the way it used to be; unlike the way it will become . . . the beauty of the moment, captured!

Hello. My name is Arjay, and I love creating art in a variety of ways. From my earliest childhood days, I was always involved in some sort of artistic endeavors: drawing, painting, acting, writing, playing music, etc. As time went on, my artistic efforts were primarily in photography. Although I would shoot a variety of subjects, my work at that time was mostly nature and landscape images.

In 2002, I became interested in nude art. I began shooting photo sessions of nude women (and often myself) in figure studies, both in my home studio and out in nature. For several years, my models were all personal friends and the occasional family member. In February, 2008, I began to work with models from around the Portland area, as well as first-timers wanting to give nude modeling a try. I always consider it a great honor to do a woman's first nude shoot (or only nude shoot, in some cases). I try to make sure it is a positive experience for them.

In 2005, I also began modeling occasionally for photographers and figure drawing groups. Although I am not the "typical" male model type, I enjoy doing it and have made some good relationships through it.

Then, in 2011, another new beginning occured as I got back into drawing (mostly) and painting (some) for the first time in many years, now focusing a lot of my efforts on nude work of that type. My most exciting project is a series I am working on, that will include 500 different models by the time it is finished, but I am also continuing to work on a variety of drawings, paintings and photo sessions.

I am always seeking new models to work with, of all shapes and sizes! Little or no experience or full-time professionals are all great to work with in my book! Full nudity is required, but absolutely no overly sexual images or anything beyond what the model feels comfortable with. Models do not need to think they are "fit" to be drawn nude (or photographed, as the case may be), all they need to be is willing. I am looking for all types, not only so-called "perfection". I know they will be pleased with the outcome of our work together.
