"alison jay" is the pseudonym of Ally Johnston, a final year Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design) student at the Whitehouse Institute of Design.

My philosophy is to create beautiful and effortless clothing that is relevant in the lives of bubbly, creative and elegant women. With a passion for all things from the sixties and seventies, the collections have an air of hippie non-chalance merged with an of the moment feel. Each season, strong elongated silhouettes and vibrant prints that are inspired by my love of travelling and flea market finds. I aim to create the ideal outift that will take you from day to night seamlessly and that can be worn endlessly.

Before undertaking study at the Whitehouse Institute of Design, I worked as a hairdresser, and currently have a range of connections with hair and make up artists, as well as photographers and stylists, however I struggle to find models who connect with the garments and with the overall feel of the collection. I would love to connect with people who would not only be a part of my graduate collection this year, but who would continue to be a part of the brand as it grows.
