Calling all models with a knowledge of modern art history: some of the most moving portraits ever created in twentieth century art are Andrew Wyeth’s portraits of his muse Helga. Hidden from public view for at least fifteen years these remarkable paintings caused a huge scandal in the art world. I would like to spend some time recreating these. Contact me if interested. ***THE SYMBOLIC SIGNIFICANCE OF THE NORTHERN EUROPEAN FOREST***
For centuries the idea of the dark, deep forest has compelled people of Northern Europe. From fairy tale such as Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel to the demons of witchcraft, folklore and horror the Northern European forest, with its tall birch and pine trees seems to beckon us into another world, both as enchanted as it is dangerous. The forest is seductive; a sensual yet deadly place. I have been working on several forest shoots for over a year now (mostly shot in a private forest nearby where I am based) and want to both expand and continue this theme. My interest is about placing human subjects incongruously into this natural setting; this could be either inappropriately attired for the setting (eg ball-gown, dinner dress, swimwear, etc) or even to full or implied nudity (the notion of being naked in a forest is as bizarre as it is compelling). Whilst this is not to everyone’s tastes it may appeal to some of you on here so I am inviting you to drop me a line if you are interested and we can discuss.

WRITTEN ON HER SKIN
A palimpsest is defined as ‘a very old document on which the original writing has been erased and replaced with new writing’. In turn this itself maybe overwritten and in time the document may contain traces of many documents and many histories much in the manner we can read environmental conditions from tree rings. I would like to organize a shoot with a model in which these principles, through the use of body paint, were applied to the human body.
