Much of my professional career, I worked primarily in the "fine art" market, specializing in landscape & nature photography. My portfolio has a mixture of work from the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest. Changes in both my personal life and in the photographic art market have spurred me to start shooting portraits again. I am also in the process of developing a new websites which showcase my portrait work along with my well established landscape works.

Although people were not my primary photographic subjects, I am indeed a professional photographer. I am an active PPA member, an ASMP member, and I also maintain memberships in a number of other professional photography organizations as well. My conduct and methods of conducting business reflect this level of professionalism as well. While my equipment is truly professional grade, I consider our time working together my most highly valued commodity. After all, any professional photographer knows that the difference between producing "good" pictures and producing "great" pictures, rarely is because of the equipment.

At this stage of my career diversification, first priority is to build my portrait portfolio. I am very open to some sort of contracted TFP/TFCD arrangement, especially if it will help diversify my portfolio. I do recognize that your financial needs and professional goals may differ from my own. In order to achieve both of our goals, I am completely willing to shoot most types of work.

There two types of shoots I stay away from:
#1)- While I am perfectly willing to create "boudoir" images and tasteful nudes (think of Edward Weston, Ruth Bernhard, and Imogen Cunningham), explicitly erotic/fetish/"adult" images (for professional reasons), represent genre I strongly avoid.
#2)- Event-based work (e.g. runway events, bridal shows, weddings, bar/bat mitzvah, etc). Logistical and physical demands require that I decline this type of project, unless it is a prolonged project which grants me control over my work schedule.

When it comes to "work for hire", I am pleased to work with just about anyone; new models, established models, any age, and any body types. In the end, I just want to provide my clients the best images I can, provided the project does not leave me in a professionally compromised situation.

Because of the value I place on our time together and a desire for our session to be productive and efficient, my ideal method of scheduling would involve some sort of pre-session meeting (casual- could be over coffee or via conference call) to discuss contracts, goals, and our expectations. I would like our creative time together to be an enjoyable, collaborative, and highly productive, leaving us both pleased with the experience and with the images we create.
