About Me

UPDATE: I am in graduate school which limits my shoots to once or twice a week. Moreover, I am limiting my edits to 5 a photo shoot. However, you get all of the images from the shoot via google drive as normal which are awesome for your brand building.

I am a part time artist/photographer. I have a fantastic day job in Education that allows me to live nobly and comfortably but my career does not satisfy my artistic side. Therefore, I am using my artistic skills as a photographer in my spare time. I am always looking to collaborate with models in the Houston area. I shoot weekly. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I love TFP shoots with models shooting on location and in studio -- you call it. I'd like to consider myself an artist and I am definitely not a guy with a camera! I'm happily married with a wonderful 4 year old son -- it is bliss -- but I'm addicted to photographing the beauty of women and crafting our images as mutual artists.

<Dajas RANT:>

Biggest complaint! If I work with you, tag me on your social media and model mayhem! I work hard to credit all of the models I work with on my social media to build both of our brands and I also help each of you find work with my network of photographers, event planners, etc. I have seen too many of my images out in the wild on instagram, facebook, twitter without photographer credit. I don't like watermarks and I will not watermark my images but if this continues -- I will consider it for I believe it cheapens the images. It is not alright to forget for I would never do this to you.

I have had a lot of models cancel/stop communicating on me!
In addition, when we set up a date, I am securing that time, do not ignore me via emails -- if you all of sudden cannot shoot that day, I'm fine with it, but you have to communicate with me. Yes, I book shoots weeks in advance because of my schedule! Be professional. Models cancelling on me is getting old.

Models that only want to allow me to use 1-3 images. Get over yourself. I usually shoot 150-300 images and if you only want me to use 1-3, not even 5, then I cannot work with you on a TFP. I use the images I create to advertise my photography brand. Trust me, I will never use an image that looks bad. If you feel the images are bad, it is you, not me.

Ladies, if you bring friend and they want pictures too please tell me in advance so I may prepare for two shoots. If not, I will treat them like a chaperon and I will ask them "Hey, hold this umbrella for me!" I have had a couple of models' friends think I owe them the same attention I have agreed with their friend, the model I spoke with originally and not them. If I did not talk or make any arrangement with you, how do you expect anything. Don't give me grief or complain -- for whatever I provide for you is out of courtesy. Furthermore, your welcome, by the way, for I just used 5,000 dollars worth of photo equipment on your images for free and you have the nerve to complain.

If we set up a shoot date/time and then you hit me with the I need gas money, etc, I will not collaborate with you. That is shameful that you have to resort to these tactics. I have already collaborated with over 100 models so why would I pay you? I am the one the 5000 dollars worth of equipment and skill. Tell me upfront of any hardships and we can work it out.

Contact Rules:

If you add me as a friend, you are telling me you want to collaborate with me TFP. I'm only TFP. I do not pay models. Models do not pay me. I only pay models in rare instances where their brand will enhance my brand. Do not add me as a friend to solicit paid work. I have a wife that spoils our 4 year old son! She won't allow me to spend money on models! And for those models that ask for payment, I know you are worth it! I just can't do it at this time because of my dedication as a father to my son.

Dajas Promise:

When you work with me, its always professional and fast! You get all of the photos the same day unedited via google drive link. Usually within one week (no longer than 2 weeks), you will get retouched photos via google drive. If takes me longer than a 2 weeks to retouch the photos, then you need to bother me! You get 5 retouched images. Or, you get 5 retouched images per outfit! If I give you more, it will take me longer than 3 days and you must be patient.

Dajas Difference:

What sets me apart from other photographers is that I do extensive post-work on my photos. All blemishes and skin issues are removed from the photos. I do not do a lazy retouch in lightroom. I take my time one-by-one in photoshop! I believe my art is an extension of my identity and I take the utmost pride in my work! I always do extensive post work to provide the best images possible.

Escort Policy: I love escorts! I'm not the stereotypical artist that demands one on one artist to artist connection. I don't believe that aspect of intimacy is required to make compelling images. Some photographers prefer that and I respect their decision. Every one does art their own way and there is no right or wrong way. As for me, I prefer collaborative art from anyone present at the time. Also, escorts hold my umbrellas and reflectors! We are supposed to have fun as we make art, right? I don't like escorts that sit in the car and wait, for it puts pressure on me to hurry. Let them help!

Pet Peeves:

Models are late. I can handle 15 minutes late, I'm usually 5 minutes late myself, but those that are 30 minutes to 1 hour late -- there is no excuse for you can use a phone to contact me. Its okay to text me you are running late EARLY so I may time when to leave. Keep the communication open and we are good.

In addition, I'm tired of models demanding they must have an escort and its no deal if I don't allow it. Did you read this page? I want the chaperon more than you -- for they hold the photo reflectors and umbrellas to give you the best possible photos! For the love of god, I'm not creepy.

I don't like models that cancel the day of shoot. Remember, I'm in education folks, I work already 50 plus hours. Text me the day before. You are taking up someone else's opportunity to work with me and create art!

Models asking me to meet them before we shoot. I'm too busy shooting to be meet individuals for coffee/dinner etc before we shoot. In addition, I'm on the tail end of my 30's with a full time career day job. Lastly, I'm a happily married, father that loves to compose art through photography but wants to be an outstanding father. It is not appropriate for me to meet models period. I understand that we must make plans and we can via email, skype, facebook. I'm not applying for a job with you. I just want to make art with you. A dajasimages shoot is no longer than 2 hours in the studio or 1 hour outside because of the heat. I work fast and we always have fun. I'm as normal and real as it gets...

Lastly, don't text me the day before at random asking me to shoot you and get disappointed that I'm booked. I book models week in advance. I try to collaborate with as many artists as possible. As you can see, in under a year, I have done almost a 100 shoots. Impressive with someone that has a career, a family, and in grad school.
