About Me

I have now been studying studio photography for five years, over this time I have had the pleasure of studying in Surrey and London and working with some great people. I am currently looking to refresh my portfolio going into my third and final year of university with fresh faced interesting models. As well as models I am currently looking to team up with a confident makeup artist to assist me on a regular basis, travel expenses can be paid. I shoot exclusively fashion and editorial, I'm looking to shoot on a weekly basis over the next few months so I would love to hear from you and create some great images in the studio.

I found that with photography I could express myself predominately in the studio and on location by creating things the way I saw them and then translating them into digital media or analogue film. I have learnt over the past year how different lighting and other factors like facial structure can be combined to compose a good image. Learning new skills all the time at Farnborough Tech has helped me break out and express myself in better and interesting ways.

Having the opportunity to work within the specific genes and practises of photography has aided in my understanding of this valued medium. I have become especially interested in studio based image making. Early on I was very interested in the works of Rankin because of his vibrant and creative images, I especially kept a close eye on his portraiture work with celebrities when creating my own images. As I delved deeper into his work I became particularly keen on his "live" project, which is where Rankin started 2009 by inviting people from across the UK to participate in his most ambitious project to date "Rankin Live!" A exibition made up of two parts, "Rankin Live" brought thehuge scale of his work from the last 22 years in Rankin's photographic life together with the portraits of hundreds of today's British public.

As I further developed an interest in photography I became enchanted by the classic work of Guy Bourdin. I sympathised with his creativity, he chose to capture only the most seductive parts of the female body and portray them in a most fascinating style. I recently created homage to this artists work by having a two toned back drop and a female model appear to be falling down into the background imitating one of him most iconic images.

I am currently studying in London, this has helped me surround myself with all things art and photography. Living outside of london gives me a greater field to work with but it is mostly where I spend my time.
