McGowen James was born July 13th 1986 in a small town right outside of Houston Texas called Cleveland. He was born into a large family. He was number 7 out of 9 kids, so family is truly important to him. He had a beautiful daughter at the age of 18 in high school. This caused his life to rapidly change. Shortly after high school, he joined the military (Air force) to provide for his new family. While in the military he was deployed to Iraq where he fought proudly for his country. Once completing his term in the Air Force he moved to Houston Texas. He became a personal trainer for the next 2 years. One day while running in the park he met a guy by the name of Colen Leblanc. Colen suggested that McGowen should try modeling because of his naturally gifted physique. After a few test shots it became apparent that he had a unique look and was very comfortable in front of the camera. McGowen knew at that very moment that this was something that he was good at, and he wanted to do more of in the future. He began submitting photos to agencies in search of work. His goals are to become an aspiring actor and successful model. Some of his favorite actors are Idris Elba, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman. When he’s not working towards his career of modeling and acting, in his free time he likes to spend time with his family, workout of course, play basketball, and go fishing with his Dad, Uncle, and Granny as he says it.
