Hi, my name is Steve Akins. I have been an avid photographer for about 10 years now. I was a sports photographer for a local drag racing track in Lakeland Fl. for a couple years, I was taking pictures of Drag racing cars as they left the start line and that was very exciting, dangerous and exhilirating I must say! But, after having left that gig I just left photography to vacations, scenic, family events etc.. Then, I basically just gave up for a little while, but, even as I put the camera away the ambition to be a great photographer still remained.

But NOW? I am back into it!!! And this time, at a different level. ( Glamour, Portraits etc.. See, before photography was a hobby for having fun (and making money in the sports photography field). But now I want to go further. I want to practice and sharpen up my skills to be one of the best photographers in this area. I would like to take it from a hobby level to where my work is sought after. I will continue to enjoy it especially the creative side. I refuse to let it become a grind or "work" to me. I will let my passion become a profession- one picture at a time.
