The most influential pictures are those that tell a story, whether it be in the scene, the pose, or just the eyes themselves. I enjoy trying to tell that story, as unchanged as possible, to the models that I work with as well as the viewers of my work. Because of that, trust, communication, and collaboration are very important when I approach a shoot or particular style.

I work with ambient light whenever possible. It gives a more spontaneous energy to a shot, and can sometimes lead to surprising results. Dark tunnels with that one ray of light, shaded forests, or even a room without a view... all are fun to interpret in different ways, depending on whom I'm working with.

I prefer TF, when able, because it lets some of the pressure off to just have fun and see what can happen, but I am not adverse to paying models if I have a particular shot in mind. My motto is, if I get paid for a shoot, the models and MUA I bring along also get paid. That extends to prints sold, live events, etc. I'm looking to network with folks who are interested in the same - and like to laugh while working.

Finally, I always give credit where it's due. Models, MUA, costume design, etc. I wouldn't be able to tell my story without telling theirs, so there's little chance I'm going to ignore all of their efforts in making a stunning shot come true.
