I'm inspired by the aesthetics of the 1940's, and I'm open to creative art ideas with photography. I love a variety of art ranging from classic vintage to modern. I'm a singer/songwriter and my Decades EP and Single Are You Satisfied are out on iTunes, Amazon, and most other digital retailers. I'm always testing and improving my skills as an artist, shriving for the next level, always staying true myself in whatever I do. As of now, I am working on my full length album.

Artist BIO:
Ruby Mae Collins is a rockin’ pinup doll based out of San Francisco. Ruby has made a name for herself with her unique, vintage style, and timeless songs. Collins’ journey began while working at a used record store and attending beauty school at the age of sixteen. She has always loved the art of music and styling and has worked behind the scenes with musicians and performers, at fashion shows and photo/video shoots, as well as mused for artists. She has even been asked to lend her vocals to musical albums. For the last ten years, she has become a talented and recognized hair/makeup stylist and model, with features in news advertisements in magazines such as Rolling Stone, Car Kulture Deluxe, Ol’ Skool Rods, Rebel Ink, and The New York Times, just to name a few. Now she is expanding her horizons once more by delving into the music industry. A dream of becoming a singer since childhood and life experience has led her to find her voice, and so she decided to pursue her dream of recording her own music.

Collins sees her music as sharing her diary and confessions. It’s an artistic expression of her soul. She wanted to find someone with whom she felt completely comfortable collaborating with, so she called up her long time friend and Grammy-nominated producer Joe Haze. Haze has worked with artists such as Sublime, 8MM, My Glorious, and Kid Savant. Ruby felt that he would be perfect for the job! They got together and started bouncing ideas off each other. With a little patience and elbow grease, Ruby’s Decades EP was born, and released in July of 2012. With Haze’s rock background and Collins’ love of timeless music and 90′s girl rock, the EP has a classic sound with a modern rock/pop edge. Keeping true to herself, they even recorded with classic gear from the 60′s and 70′s to give the album an authentic sound. With her new single ‘Are Your Satisfied’, Ruby Mae Collins feels the release of emotions running through her veins. Stay tuned for more singles and a full album in the works from Collins.

Everything Collins does is filled with the love and passion of a woman who is boldly following her dreams. With Collins’ love of female singers including Wanda Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, and Shirley Manson, ‘vintage elegance with a modern edge’ describes both her music and style. Collins admits to being an avid vintage collector and is obsessed with anything pre-’65 vintage, especially the 1940′s. Her look is inspired by her grandmother who Collins said, “had elegance and a beautiful sense of wit and charm.” Collins’ tattoos, seen as modern by some, are actually inspired by vintage circus and vaudeville days.

Ruby takes both her music and style very seriously, but her fans are what make it all worthwhile. As she says, “I’d be nothing without them.
