Storytelling paved the way for Therese to more than seven years as a professional actor in film, television and theater. Therese had acting workshops with CCP Tanghalang Pilipino's Actors Company, Philippine Educational Theater Association, and the GMA Artist Center. She continued to hone herself as an artist through a Shakespeare workshop with Ana Valdes Lim, and UP Film Institute’s Directing for Film workshop with Carlos Siguion-Reyna. Therese had also been trained in Singapore by internationally renowned storytellers such as Anne Pelowski, Cathy Spagnoli and Margaret Read MacDonald. She was a featured storyteller in the NCBD Awards held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2002. Therese has portrayed the lead role of Josephine Bracken both in The Rotary Club of Los Baños production of Layeta Bucoy’s "Tu Dulce Estranjera" directed by Dennis Gupa, and The UP Repertory Company’s production of Sir Anril Tiatco’s “Miss Dulce Extranjera o Ang Paghahanap kay Miss B.” She was also featured in Anton Juan’s “Hinabing Pakpak ng ating mga Anak,” and “Umaaraw Umuulan, Kinakasal ang Tikbalang” directed by Jose Estrella. Her film credits include “Caregiver,” the Cinemalaya 2008 finalist “My Fake American Accent,” the international film “Black Market Love,” and Pepper Marcelo's “Dinner.” Therese was a finalist in GMA7 KiliTV Comic Hunt in 2005, and in QTV11's May Trabaho Ka "Wanted Indie Actor" in 2006. She is also an assistant director and script translator for films, an events host, and a licensed gradeschool teacher with a Special Education training for the Visually Impaired. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Life and Child Development from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
