As a model with a passion for WWII history, I love to portray the quintessential wartime pinup: a saucy mix of allure and innocence, sometimes with a little humor to spice things up. I was first inspired by a visit to Europe and in 2011 I went to Normandy and the United Kingdom, where WWII history is commemorated year-round by countless events. There is a real passion for honoring a period in history that brought out such valor in so many people, and it was a privilege to witness and contribute to that effort. I attended several military/reenactment events and shoots to pose for professional and amateur photographers, and have met reenactors, veterans, and currently active military personnel from all over the globe. I worked on location and on closed sets for renowned historical re-enactment photographer Nick Halling and others, and appeared on the covers of Classic Military Vehicles (Aug/Sept 2011) and WWII Reenactors Magazine (Nov2011). The loveliest thing about pinup, what I think makes it so unique, is that it gave soldiers an idealistic vision of femininity as a momentary respite, something to keep them going during an unimaginable struggle. It’s inspirational to keep that imagery going.
