Very rarely do you find an image that isn't retouched or "developed". Just like film, your negative or roll of film needed to be chemically developed. The same is true of digital imagery, the difference is there is no chemical process and one who has studied and perfected the process either in chemical or digital processing is usually an expert in their field. Knowing and understanding more than just the tools, but the process of digital imagery is a very important asset. Ingestion, conversion, storage, and output is just a scratch of the surface when it come to the digital process and that is evolving all the time. It all sounds very technical and it is, but that is my specialty, one that I have invested years into practice.

An image can be processed 100 different ways. Is there a difference? Depends. How and where is the images going to be used? What is the expectation of the industry, the editor, the client? It all matters. What are the colors for 2017? What are the trends?

In order to process images I believe it is necessary to know more than just the tools or how to make an image "pop" but to make it "pop" in the right direction, in this way you are a professional in your field, weather you hire the services or create them yourself. Is it about who you know then? I think so....
