Matias Desiderio, born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. grew up in a close-knitted family of 7 children. He started acting at age 17, debuting his acting career in theater in his hometown with plays such as Teatro Por La Identidad , Bajo Rey , Romeo an Julieta , La China (which awarded him best Actor in play "Cordoba" and many others in the most prestigious theaters of the country. Matias acting education include San Martin Theater, Luis Romero Acting Shool, Lee Strasberg acting school in Los Angeles, and numerous workshops with renowned teacher Joy Morris in Buenos Aires.
Matias Desiderio has appeared in various TV shows such as Malandras, Historia de Sexo de Gente Comun, Ama de Casa Desesperadas, La Lola, El Tiempo No Para, Doble Vida and many others. His astounding performance as "Martin" in Lalola led him for 2 awards: a nomination for "Clarin" a revelation male TV "La Lola" and a 2007 nomination "Martin Fierro" a revelation "La Lola". Both awards are the most distinguished in south America.
In 2005, Matias landed the lead role of "Pablo" in "Palermo Hollywood", a critically acclaimed full feature from Argentina which competed in the Sundance Film Festival, Dramatic International Competition. Following the success of his performance in "Palermo Hollywood", Matias appeared in several full features such as "First Mission", "Verano Amarguo", "Viudas", and "Accoralados" proving his versality and passion for his work throuhout all those different roles.
Matias dedication to film and cinema also extends into directing and producing. His recent work include the production of the documentary "Viva Cuba Libre" which depicts the controvery of two rappers in Cuba. Most recently, Matias co-wrote and directed the short film "IVANKA" which received great press and response from the media in the US.
Matias is currently working on his 1st full feature in Los Angeles where he can combine all his creativity, artistry and experience in the film industry under his own company, Buenos Angeles Productions. We should see a lot more of Matias Desiderio in the mainstream film industry as he is in the works with many different projects which promise to show a lot more of his capabilities and talent.
