I am currently on photo assignment in southern Africa. I will use the site to locate subjects for a series of portraits I have planned for an upcoming return to my home in Canada. My photographic interests involve location photo shoots that are planned and organized in great detail. I like to use the studio for much of my work. I am developing a style that is directive but at the same time brings out the ideas that I have as a photograph, not as a representation. I came to photography later in my career after starting out as a painter. The technical skills of painting have not come as easy to me to those of photography. I rely on my sense of composition and my eye for structure to make my photographs special.
