My name is Gabby, and I'm currently a senior biology major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I've been interested in photography for quite awhile, but I'm still trying to build a solid portfolio while I finish up my bachelors degree. My Passion:
With no photography education or training, my work has been all self taught. My exploration of photography is driven by a passion to create images that relay the beauty of my subjects. I absolutely love working with individuals and trying to capture their identity and personalities in a still reflection of themselves; little do they know, their portraits are a manifestation of my own self as well. Through photographs I’m able to express myself in subtle ways- like the way the light hits one’s eyes or the way the sun illuminates their hair. In a more direct way I’m able to generate editorial illustrations by creatively designing a concept, makeup, attire, and editing; this is true evidence of my mind being portrayed into a tangible representation for all to see. I think everyone’s goal in life is to find a comfortable way to express themselves and their true identity; and that’s why photography is not only my passion and obsession, but also my therapy.
