Filmmaker, cinematographer and portrait photographer with 30 years photography experience, beginning with an enrichment photography class for gifted students where I developed my own negatives at age 10. Studied formally at The School of Visual Arts in New York, and in Florida at FSU and FAMU (dual-enrolled in order to take an experimental photography class). I'm one of those people who takes a camera with me everywhere, and I'm constantly imagining how I'd film things that catch my eye.

I prefer outdoor settings, natural light, and minimal makeup so that personality of the model can be revealed. I'd rather photograph a model doing something, to capture the personality and natural beauty of the subject in a way that is not contrived.

My favorite photographer is Ellen Von Unwerth - she manages to photograph highly styled models in a way that comes across as a narrative, a high contrast still from a grainy black and white film dug up from the 1960's, where the models are having the time of their lives. On the other end of the spectrum, there's Bunny Yeager, who, despite her casual style, seemed to be able to bring out the natural beauty and exuberance in just about anyone.

I'm quite skilled in Photoshop and do my own retouching/editing when it is required.

As a filmmaker, I specialize in promotional films and music video, with an emphasis on documentary-style work and capturing the beauty, spontaneity, and sensory aspects of the natural world.

In models, I look for charisma and focus. Personality is more important than looks, because as a model, you are ultimately an actor, and a good photographer can make anyone look amazing.
