About Me

My interests in photographic art began at age 11 when an ad in Fortune magazine caught my attention. It was a two-pager for a company promoting its custom packaging capabilities and had a full-page photo on the left and copy on the right. The photo showed several gleaming white eggs on a bright blue background. Three of the eggs were neatly cracked open and spilled out peas instead of yolks. For a boy my age, this was an interesting concept!

The prospect of working with high impact images and copy led me to study advertising and photography in college and further my skills with a camera as an intern at the local college-town newspaper. About a dozen years working with fabulously creative minds in graphic design and advertising agencies ensued, followed by another 15 years in marketing where I've been directing the work of agencies, design firms, writers and others whose work I admire - something I continue to do today on a consulting basis.

I particularly delight in capturing pieces of of the human form, vibrancy and power of their own when isolated from their normal setting. These opportunities for abstraction can present themselves suddenly, or when you place yourself in the right environments. though stlilled by time, the simplicity of a women's gentle curves, lines and intersecting parts project a sense of strength and power that i find interesting.
