About Me

My name is John, I've been an avid photographer since I was a teenager when I processed and printed my own negatives. I have since adopted digital photography and videography, also photographing and video-taping my travels and experiences in Japan. I shoot a variety of genres, including fashion, portraiture, pin-up, fantasy and cosplay. I’m also a regular at DC area conventions, the Maryland Renaissance Festival and have participated in photo shoots at several studios in the area.

My gear now includes a Canon HV-20 camcorder, Nikon D5200 DSLR, Panasonic Lumix FZ200 and a variety of lenses and support gear. In 2010 I booked my first paying gigs: two promotional music videos, but mostly enjoy just creating beautiful images with my friends.

My goals for the future are to expand into more paying gigs, network with models and photographers, learn more about my craft, create beautiful images in photography and video, publish, rinse and repeat. I'm planning longer trips to Japan, documenting the culture, sights and sounds of Japan in photography and video.
