Hi, my name is David Thompson

Tacitic is a play on the word 'tacit' which means... 'Understood or implied without being stated'
My interpretation on that is I like to think the viewer is able to understand my photos without me having to explain it in words

I am (still) a professional photo restorer (repairing old and damaged photos) since the year 2000.
About 2008 I decided to really learn to take my own photos. I jumped right in and I love it and just can't get enough!
I have been shooting model portfolios and fashion since 2011


Even though I am interested in all styles of photography, I am finding I am starting to steer my photography towards artistic fashion with creativity
My ultimate goal is to shoot a VS fashion show! I know... aim high right!

So if you are feeling creative, need new shots for your folio or just up for some fun in front of a camera, drop me a message and we will make it happen!

My rates are reasonable @ $125/hr with 2 hours minimum

I am happy to do TFP if I contact you because I feel you might be suitable for any particular shoot
Also happy to do TFP if you contact me and...
* I like your profile (so spend some time on it with current information)
* I feel the concept of your ideas will be a good addition to my folio
* You have made a list of concepts of other photos you want to try
* I might ask you to split the costs of studio hire etc

If I do a TFP shoot with you...
* It will be of the same standard as a paying client
* you may choose 6 of the best images you want me to enhance/edit/retouch for free. Subsequent photo edits are $20 each
* I will edit free photos asap but paying clients get priority of my editing time
* no TFP shoot will be edited out of turn


AT ALL SHOOTS I act professionally and I expect the same from you!
* I will never touch you! If I see a random hair over your face, a twisted strap or something not quite right, I will ask YOU to make it right. I have no need to do it myself (unlike some photographers)
* I might ask but I will never make you do or wear anything you are not comfortable in doing. A comfortable model is a happy model and a happy model makes for better photos :D


I am able to shoot at any reasonable and legal location
I have recently finished my own home studio in Bundoora
I also have access to the studio at The Melbourne Camera Club in South Melbourne
Another studio (with private gym) in Fairfield
